Over 40 academic editors leave global publishing company

A story in "The World" on American public radio describes how over 40 academic editors leave global publishing company over excessive publication fees.

Researchers depend on publishing their findings in scientific journals. So it was considered a bold move when the editors of two prestigious neuroimaging journals resigned en masse recently after the publisher refused to lower the fees it charges academics to publish their work.

Professor Sarang Dalal from CFIN at Aarhus University is among the now former editors for NeuroImage who are now founding a successor non-profit journal called Imaging Neuroscience.
