I am an MRI physicist working on optimizing brain MRI scans. My main interest is how to optimize MRI of brain activity, but I am also interested in generating MRI images with other contrasts, e.g. cortical myelination, diffusion, and temperature.
Since 2009, I have headed CFIN's human MRI scanning infrastructure, contributing to grant applications, procurement processes, installation, relocation, and daily operations. Since 2008, I have regularly taught the course “Statistical Analysis of Brain Imaging Data” in various settings (IHA, AU, SDC) at both Master's and PhD level. I supervise PhD students in interdisciplinary collaborations with medical doctors, physicists, psychologists, and others. I also strive to share my experience and research findings with clinicians at Aarhus University Hospital, contributing to the optimization of stroke diagnostics and the treatment of essential tremor using MRgFUS. I lead the SCOPE research group at CFIN – read more here: https://cfin.au.dk/cfin-labs-research-groups/scope-mri. Overall, my work bridges method development, research, teaching, and clinical application.
