I am Consultant, Professor of Experimental Neuroradiology and Director of CFIN at Aarhus University and Aarhus University hospital. With a background in medicine, astronomy and experimental physics, I study how the brain receives and uses oxygen and energy. I combine clinical research, imaging and mathematical modelling to understand mechanisms of neurological diseases. My roles include research leadership and supervision.
I lead CFIN, an interdisciplinary research centre comprising 18 groups working across cognitive neuroscience, neurological disease mechanisms, and the development of new research and diagnostic methods. My role is to create the best possible conditions for staff wellbeing, research and professional development, with particular emphasis on collaboration across groups and ensuring that our findings benefit people with diseases affecting brain function.
