I am a laboratory animal veterinarian with a background as a veterinarian (cand.med.vet.) and a specialist in laboratory animal medicine. I also have a PhD in animal models and a doctorate (dr.med.vet.) in PET scanning of laboratory animals. I function both as a laboratory animal veterinarian, ensuring that the laboratory animals are well-being, and as a researcher, achieving useful results from the research.
I primarily participate in medical experiments conducted on laboratory animals - ranging from bone marrow inflammation, to heart, brain, lung, liver and kidney diseases. The projects in most cases include one or more imaging techniques, such as PET, CT and MRI scans, and this is where I play a role/and this is where I come into the picture, as I am employed at the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET. I work specifically on optimizing animal experiments from an animal welfare and scientific perspective.
