My research focuses on the mechanisms that regulate the secretion and pH balance of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. I investigate how specific membrane transporters in the choroid plexus control fluid formation during health and disease. Through a combination of experimental animal models and cellular physiology methods, I aim to identify transport mechanisms that may form the basis for new therapeutic strategies targeting disturbances in the brain’s pH and fluid homeostasis
